Each year Ballymena Rotary Club hold a Christmas Hamper project, collecting food, toiletries, toys etc which will be redistributed to local charities and partnerships during the festive season. The Charities of choice are all local to the Ballymena community. This year we thought we would approach one of our local customers to join in with contributing towards this great cause. We would like to say a special thank you to everyone at McBurney Transport for their kind generosity this year. Every year we head down to St Colmcille’s Primary School, where their lovely pupils and staff help our team to load up our vehicles with all their amazing donations.
Massive well done to all the Ballymena Rotarians and everyone who has been involved and donated to the much needed cause.
This year TTP got involved with the Ballymena Rotary Club in the collection of much needed donations which are going to 10 local charities to distribute. The first port of call was St Colmcille’s Primary School. The school incorporated the theme of pastoral care and caring for others along with their request for donations of non-perishable foods, toiletries, baby products etc. Their response was unbelievable – pictured are Alastair Martin (Ballymena Rotary Club) and Mr Henry Walls (Principal) with the donations stretching down the main corridor and beyond! A fantastic response from the school!! A total of 20 local schools participated in the scheme, gathering an unbelievable amount of goods and cash donations. The staff in TTP also got involved, bringing in donations, with Leanne sorting them into common groups. All was transported to Rotary’s main storage site and then distributed to the local charities. At a time like this, all charities are struggling, and they need people to donate as much as possible!!
Technical Transport Products are delighted to be a designated drop-off point for Cash for Kids: Mission Christmas appeal 2018.
At TTP and Thermo King we are committed to supporting local charities and this Christmas, Cash for Kids is asking the local community to buy one extra gift and to leave it off, unwrapped at a drop-off point. We are proud to be one of those drop-off points!
Just leave your unwrapped gift in to the shiny box beside Darryl at the front desk before Monday 17th December and we will pass it on to the appeal.
The gifts go to local children who are suffering from poverty and who are unlikely to receive anything on Christmas Day. Cash for Kids are especially looking for gifts for babies and teenagers. Mission Christmas isn’t asking for anything big or expensive, just simple gifts that you could pick up with your weekly shop. We have included some gift ideas below.
We will also be holding a Christmas Jumper Day on Friday 14th December to raise money for the Mission Christmas appeal. so, why not join in and wear the ugliest jumper you can find and make a donation!
